On a personal level, I believe in the authenticity of downtown communities. I admire their architectural magnificence and hope for their enduring strength. From early stone masonry to the Eclectic Movement styles of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Pennsylvanians are the beneficiaries of a rich architectural heritage. Those who designed and constructed Pennsylvania’s architectural fabric deserve to be honored, for they worked with a sense of ambition, purpose and selflessness that these buildings would one day convey the values of previous generations. To that end, I wish to document as many communities as possible, and use the internet as a vehicle to increase awareness and build support for Pennsylvania’s Main Streets and historic resources.
